Been busy .. the last few months on several fronts …. obviously blogging on this site has not been on the top of my list of important things to do. Flying has taken a back seat (due to $7.00 a gal avgas) to most everything.
But the real reason, my eyes are getting older along with the rest of me. Got to the point I couldn’t read the charts – so I laid off roaming around the skies – going aloft only when absolutely necessary.
Finally the doc suggested it was cataracts – an easy fix! So I’m soon scheduled to get my bionic eyes. If all goes well, in a few months I will be terrorizing the skies over the Blue Ridge, just like to good ole days.
The Millennium Falcon (1949 A35 Bonanza) is in great shape, new landing gear box (the old one finally gave up – leaked every day since I bought it in 1976), new rudder steering gear, and a number of other upgrades. Hope to make a few shows with her this Summer – maybe return to Oshkosh or Reno … one more time!
Have also consolidated a number of other web sites and blogs to reduce the work load of keeping them up. This is one on my favorites – so think I’ll keep it active for a few more years. Real Estate and Construction are in the tank so no real reason to keep those sites going …. time now for the fun stuff.
The Blue Ridge Post is still active – well sort’a – hope to revive that now that I can see again. I still love these mountains and hope to spend a lot more time with stories about them and the people who call this area home.
All for now.
73 and see you on the radio.
